United Way in Cobb County shows a little change can have a big impact
Second annual Denim makes a Difference Day proves caring never goes out of style
|
|
On Wednesday, September, 29th, Cobb County will once again be partnering with the United Way in Cobb County to participate in Denim Makes a Difference Day. These companies and individuals are making a small change in their usual business casual attire by throwing on their favorite pair of denim jeans to LIVE UNITED. They are advancing the common good in their community and by doing so are making an impact in the lives of others.
To participate, United Way is asking individuals to make a $5 donation to United Way, to wear denim jeans to work. Individuals will also be given the option of donating $10 and receiving a LIVE UNITED t-shirt, while supplies last. Donations will go towards making a big impact in United Way’s focus areas - Education, Income and Health, and Homelessness in the Cobb community.
For more information on how your company can participate, and to order your LIVE UNITED t-shirt before “Denim Makes a Difference Day,” contact United Way Cobb County at 770.428.8344.

United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta joins forces with Publix Super Markets, V-103, KISS 101.5, Star 94, the Salvation Army, local school districts and the Atlanta Journal Constitution for the 2010 School Tools for Cool Kids. The program provides homeless students with essential school supplies so they have the tools to succeed in the classroom. School supplies are distributed to 19 area districts, including Cobb County and Marietta City schools.
United Way is responsible for sorting, taking inventory and distributing the school supplies to school systems across the metro region. Volunteers are needed at our warehouse to help sort the donated school supplies to be distributed to metro Atlanta school districts. Please sign up your corporate volunteer team during this exclusive, corporate team opportunity. Volunteer openings are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and general registration ends July 15.
