The Metro Atlanta Funders Collaborative brings together public, private and philanthropic organizations to target financial resources — sparking and driving innovation to meet the needs of job seekers, incumbent workers and employers. The Collaborative aims to:
-
Help unemployed and underemployed individuals attain family-supporting jobs
-
Increase the resources available for education and training services to develop skills and build careers
-
Address the needs of employers, so they and their employees can be more efficient, productive and competitive
-
Support Georgia’s efforts to transform the workforce system into one that’s cohesive and seamless
The Metro Atlanta Workforce Funders Collaborative leverages the national model, the National Fund for Workforce Solutions, to bring their proven strategy to scale in a local approach. As part of this effort, we have secure federal dollars from the Social Innovation Fund — in the amount of $300,000.
The Collaborative will blend investments from local and regional funders into a single grant to service providers and employers in order to offer job training and career support that meet the needs of both employees and employers in industry specific sectors that are central to our local economy.
Workforce Partnerships - Request for Proposals
The Metro Atlanta Workforce Funders Collaborative invites proposals for workforce partnerships in the health care sector to prepare incumbent front-line workers for career pathways at their employers or to train unemployed, low-skilled adults. Learn more here.
