Our Volunteer Involvement Program provides employee training for non-profit board engagement opportunities.
United Way of Greater Atlanta started VIP in 1992 in order to identify, recruit and place diverse leaders from greater Atlanta into policy making roles to enhance the effectiveness of nonprofit agencies in our community. Since its inception, more than 2,000 graduates have provided service to more than 350 nonprofit governance boards and committees throughout greater Atlanta.
What is VIP?

It is designed to develop and enhance leadership skills, increase diverse volunteer participation in nonprofit board and leadership positions, in the greater Atlanta communities. VIP gives participants the tools to serve as effective board members of local nonprofit agencies. Workshops include fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, and financial and legal decision making.
