With help from Calvary Refuge, Angela got her life moving forward again.

Angela first came to Calvary Refuge in October 2004. She was 27, and the father of her two children was in jail.
A woman who gave Angela and her son Daryion a ride also told her about Calvary Refuge, a United Way community
partner that provides emergency and transitional housing for families in need.
Angela was accepted into the 21-day emergency relief program. As each day grew shorter and colder, Angela and
her daughter set out for the bus stop longer and longer before sunrise. Angela's diligence earned her a spot
in the two-year transitional program. She arranged for child care, began looking for a job and made plans to
return to school. When Angela learned that she and her new boyfriend were expecting their first child together,
her motivation to complete her education increased.

In October 2005, Angela gave birth to daughter Brianna. In January 2006, she graduated from Georgia Medical Institute (now Everest). In
February, the clinic where she had completed her externship hired her. After school let out for the summer, the family moved into their own two-
bedroom apartment. Today, Angela is still working to support her family, taking care of her children and planning her wedding. "All I ever asked for was someplace I could stay and get on my feet," she recalls. "Calvary is for people who have a
goal in life and need a little help along the way."
