AAP: Tell us about your role at Enterprise Holdings and how you impact the company’s strategic goals.

Kellye: I am the Business Development Executive for the Car Sales division of Enterprise Holdings. We have access to top quality, exceptionally maintained pre-owned certified vehicles that we offer below the market value. My responsibilities include driving business to our car sales department by establishing and maintaining credit union partnerships in Georgia. I meet with credit union decision makers to increase auto loan volume and strengthen their membership loyalty. I am also the face of Enterprise Holdings at community and convention events, and increase product awareness in our rental branches. I am fortunate to not only represent the best and largest car company in the world but to absolutely love what I do! We are truly making a difference by providing consumers top quality pre-owned vehicles with exceptional pricing that they will never have to haggle for!

AAP: What are your suggestions for individuals who are interested in a career in the transportation/retail industry?
Kellye: I would highly recommend individuals apply for a position at Enterprise Holdings.. It is a family, privately owned company that TRULY invests in its people to be successful. The management trainee program is exceptional with its corporate training on how to operate a business. The best part about the company is the unlimited career opportunities and the fact that we promote from with-in based on performance.

AAP: As a cabinet member of AAP, tell us how you plan to leverage the role to make a significant difference in the community.
Kellye: A significant portion of my business role is spent developing relationships. Many of them share my passion for giving back to the community. As a cabinet member, I am able to leverage my professional relationships with philanthropic opportunities to increase involvement and make a greater impact in the community.

AAP: Why is philanthropy important to you? What other community organizations are you a part of?
Kellye: Since I could talk, my parents placed me in non-profit organizations like Jack and Jill of America and Young Black Scholars where they encouraged academic excellence and community service. I remember being 8 years old feeding the homeless, beautifying inner cities, and participating in holiday programs at senior convalescent homes! Giving back has been engrained in me therefore it is EVERYTHING to me. It has kept me humble and appreciative for the foundation my parents gave me that has attributed to my character today. One of Enterprise Holdings’ founding values is “we strengthen our communities one neighborhood at a time” and we truly uphold that value every day. Enterprise Holdings was recently awarded United Way’s Outstanding Corporate Partner of the Year! With my 9th year as an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and 7th year in my career with Enterprise Holdings, I am apart of many community outreach programs and provide financial support to assist with their initiatives. My most recent involvement has been with L.E.A.D Ambassadors. Their mission is to empower an at-risk generation to lead and transform their city. They use the art of baseball to cultivate a brotherhood of encouragement, scholarship, and expose them to people who look like them in high powered positions to increase their scope of belief that they can truly achieve anything they put their minds to.

AAP: Who is your favorite African-American trailblazer that serves as a source of inspiration to you?
Kellye: My current inspiration is Michelle Obama. She is strong, classy, effective and impactful. She took on the task of challenging the country to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Her primary goal was to save a generation of young people by preventing childhood obesity and the long term illnesses associated with obesity. Her national Let’s Move Campaign has vastly heightened awareness of the benefits of living a healthier lifestyle and now its “In” to be healthy.

AAP: What are your favorite [sport/restaurant/travel destination]?
Kellye: I love to watch basketball (favorite team the LA LAKERS) and track & field competitions. I love all seafood and medium rare cooked steaks. I love to travel just about anywhere that has great shopping, food and large bodies of water!
