LINC: How has United Way LINC helped you?
United Way LINC has granted me the opportunity connect with other millennials that have a passion for service. Each member has a unique personal and professional background, but we all come together to make an impact. LINC has helped me remain open-minded and aware of my surroundings. There is always work to be done in our community, and it is great to have a platform such as LINC in order to make a difference.

LINC: What do you think are your greatest personal accomplishments?
My greatest personal accomplishment is becoming a first generation college graduate. I am a Detroit, Michigan native and proud alumna of Howard University in Washington, D.C. Although I am the first person in my immediate family to obtain a college degree, I feel like we all earned it together. My family provided so much support to get me to this point, I owe them the world!

LINC: What do you think are your greatest professional accomplishments?
Brianna: My greatest professional accomplishment is making the decision to dedicate my career to making a positive impact in the community. There are so many professions to choose from but my passion for service has always guided me in my career decisions. I’ve been afforded the opportunity to do what I love at a very young age, I believe that is a huge accomplishment.

LINC: Why do you choose to give to United Way of Greater Atlanta?
Brianna: I choose to give to UWGA, because United Way is truly a community connector. I know that donating my time, talent, and treasure to this organization will only yield positive results in Greater Atlanta.

LINC: What’s your biggest concern within the community?
Brianna: My biggest concern within the community is the fact that there are so many social issues and injustices occurring right before our eyes, yet many people choose not to acknowledge them. You may not have a homeless family living in your backyard, but that doesn’t mean that the problem doesn’t exist. It is so important that we acknowledge our differences, respect one another and our personal journeys. At any given moment, our lives could change for better or worse so it is imperative that we give back and help those in need.

LINC: What would you tell someone who is considering joining LINC?
Brianna: If you are considering joining United Way LINC, be prepared to meet great people, make a difference, and HAVE FUN! Many of us want to increase our involvement in the community and expand our networks, but don’t know where to start. LINC is a great starting point. You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about United Way of Greater Atlanta and experience the work of our amazing partner agencies first hand.

LINC: What is your favorite LINC event or experience and why?
Brianna: The LINCup events are always a great experience. It gives us a chance to decide how we will leave our philanthropic footprint in Greater Atlanta. We are able to talk about causes that are importance to us, create goals, and develop an action plan in order to accomplish those goals. It always interesting to hear the perspectives and opinions of other LINC members. Our service events are great, because everyone is active and busy, but the LINCup event allows everyone the opportunity to get to know everyone.

LINC: What are your hobbies/interests?
1. Dancing
2. Traveling – In November I will be spending a week serving as an assistant Language Arts teacher in Negril, Jamaica. I am so excited!
