Are you interested in interning at United Way of Greater Atlanta? Now’s your chance! Our internship program is a one semester, unpaid program designed to give college students career-related experience. We’re looking for motivated students with a passion for doing good in our community.

Check out what a few of our Spring 2017 interns have to say about this past semester:

This internship has given me insight and developed my skills in a variety of areas, but I think understanding all of the hard work and attention to detail needed to pull off an event has been my biggest take away. Having the opportunity to be a part of the planning and execution of an event is definitely something I am proud of from my experience as the YPL & LINC intern. My favorite part (in addition to knowing that I have gained skills in areas like donor engagement, social media, event coordinating, and even creating nametags) is getting to meet a bunch of wonderful people! It’s an awesome work environment and everyone has been so kind to me!

– Rebekah Shaw, LINC/YPL Intern

Out of the boundless opportunities which have come to surface, my biggest takeaway is being led by a true servant leader! During my term, I had the pleasure of reporting to Nicola Canty. I can attest to the many ways that she has helped me develop and grow as a young woman and leader. As a Director, I observed her to be a compassionate woman who is dedicated to serving others in any capacity. She exemplifies this passion by taking out time in her hectic schedule to evaluate my performance on a consistent basis. This valuable feedback has helped me grow professionally and personally. As a young woman who aspires to serve in the social sector, she has truly served as a role model in my life. As I am transitioning from undergrad, I can truly say that the lessons I have learned from Mrs. Canty, as well as others in the United Way family, will stick with me for a lifetime.

–  Ohenewaa Aninakwa, Client Referral Specialist Intern

My biggest takeaway is that I’ve learned to talk to the supervisors around me and to ask for their professional opinions. Donna, Marioley, and Nhora have been extremely welcoming and helpful throughout this internship and they are people which I feel have guided me along this experience with 2-1-1 and United Way. However, my favorite part would be working next to another intern. Having someone next to my cube that I can relate to has been a highlight of this internship. It makes coming to United Way more fun and exciting.

– Daniela Salvador, 2-1-1 Intern
