Furniture Bank Metro Atlanta

Mission: To recycle gently-used furniture by collecting it from the community and giving it to individuals and families moving out of homelessness and fleeing domestic violence, as well as countless others struggling to make ends meet.

Details: Board meets bi-monthly.

Agency Budget: $850,000

Financial Commitment: Members are asked to give $500.

Live Healthy & Thrive Youth Foundation

Mission: To educate, activate, motivate and empower youth in the areas of academic achievement, fitness, nutrition and total wellness.

Details: Board meets bi-monthly.

Agency Budget: $850,000

Financial Commitment: Members are asked to get $800 and give $200.

Mission: Using volunteer driver’s privately owned vehicles, we drive senior citizen’s (disabled, ambulatory) to their medical appointments..door to door..since 1998…in DeKalb County proper.

Details: Board meets six times per year at 6 p.m.

Agency Budget: $70,000

Financial Commitment: Members are asked to give $500.

H.O.W.W. Inc. (Helping Our Women Warriors)

Mission: To assist women transition to a higher position of leadership within society through counseling, educational training, and spiritual and cultural education. Programs include: The Phoenix Residential Re-Entry Program is a structured supportive housing program developed to assist transition returning citizens. The Village Connection mentoring program is designed to positively uplift education, wisdom, life and career experiences, with all women.

Details: Board meets quarterly.

Financial Commitment: Members are asked to give $250 annually.
