Sharing information about the 211 Contact Center with your friends, family, and networks is an important step in making sure that everyone has access to basic needs, especially when the unexpected happens. Beyond meeting basic needs, United Way is committed to putting our community’s children on an equitable path to fulfilling their potential.

211 is about Child Well-Being
Nearly half a million children in our region live in communities with low or very low child well-being. The lack of living wage jobs and income supports, compounded by high costs of housing, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic presents pervasive challenges for low-income families – already affected by societal and systemic barriers. Committed to these families, United Way of Greater Atlanta created the Child Well-Being Mission Fund to invest money where it can have the greatest impact on children and communities. Through our Economic Stability Investment Priority, United Way of Greater Atlanta envisions a community where families have access to secure housing and basic needs that are equitable, inclusive, and affordable. 211 is an integral part of our Economic Stability efforts in the region, helping to address basic needs by partnering with nonprofit partners and serving as a resource and referral center, directly aiding in improving the well-being of children and families in our region.
