Nearly half a million children in Greater Atlanta live in communities with low or very low child well-being. Putting our community’s children on an equitable path to fulfilling their potential requires us to work together toward a single, shared agenda. We need a collective vision, unified measures of achievement, strategies for how to attain success and a way to evaluate progress. That is the work of the Child Well-Being Mission Fund. United Way knows that together, we can ensure this is an equitable, thriving community.
United Way of Greater Atlanta recognizes that it takes many different of nonprofit partners to meet the complex needs of families. We are opening our Child Well-Being Mission Fund to invest in new partners that are working to address the complex needs of families and children. Each of the Requests for Proposals (RFPs) identify specific strategies that we are looking to fund within each priority investment area. Applications are open for all opportunities from January 12, 2022 through February 2, 2022.
United Way of Greater Atlanta seeks to engage the entire community in our work without regard to race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity, & expression, disability, sexual orientation, veteran-status, familial status or socio-economic status. That commitment is reflected in all aspects of United Way’s work – including our staff, our volunteers, our partners and the communities we serve. Our vision and mission center on inclusion and equity, and we aim to use these principles in every aspect of our Child Well-Being work.
Equity is a practice, and not a destination. Through our grantmaking, we commit to learn and adapt alongside our grantee partners. We serve the community, and look to the wisdom of community residents to guide our efforts as well as hold us accountable in honoring these commitments.
