For more than 55 years, United Way of Greater Atlanta has been working with our community to make Cobb County a great place to live and work. As leaders in the community and ambassadors of United Way’s mission, we would like to share some of the highlights of what we’ve been able to accomplish with you this year, and how agency partners and community leaders have played key roles in our work.
United Way’s vision for Cobb County is to create a thriving community. We know communities can reach their greatest future potential if our children are doing well. We believe child well-being is measured by a multitude of factors that strongly influence results.
We will take a series of actions to change those outcomes for the better and to make sure each child can reach his or her potential. Your partnership will help us create communities where children are born healthy, read proficiently by 3rd grade, live in safe neighborhoods, graduate from high school and are ready for college, careers and life. Our aspiration is for all children to be supported by people who are educated, employed, and housed; with access to good healthcare and affordable healthy foods.
The United Way Impact Fund is one of the many dedicated channels that ensures lasting, collaborative solutions to the critical problems that stand between us and a better quality of life. Impact Fund dollars are invested where you live and work in Cobb County and address the most pressing social issues of our county. The value of your donation to United Way’s Impact Fund is multiplied many times over by United Way’s powerful resources and used to create a lasting impact on communities.
We invite you to spend time with this report to learn more about our work. You may also visit unitedwayatlanta.org for more information and find out how to get involved. Feel free to reach out to DePriest Waddy, Regional Director at 770.428.8344 or cobb@unitedwayatlanta.org. We want to partner with you to make Cobb County a world-class community.

Information obtained from our 2-1-1 Contact Center is critical to maintaining a connection to the needs of each community United Way serves. 2-1-1 connects people, 24/7, to the resources necessary to address everyday challenges of living, as well as those that develop during times of emergencies.
Last year, 2-1-1 received 9,800 contacts from Cobb County. The top 5 needs are shown below.
Trained volunteers are charged with making sure that our agency partners are meeting the goals set for our community in the areas of education, income, health and homelessness. This ensures that donor contributions are invested wisely in programs that are improving the lives of Cobb County residents in need.
