Healthy individuals are needed now to donate to help patients counting on lifesaving blood. This blood shortage could impact patients who need surgery, victims of car accidents and other emergencies, or patients suffering from cancer.
Individuals can schedule an appointment to give blood with the American Red Cross by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or activating the Blood Scheduling Skill for Amazon Alexa.
The Red Cross is also in need of volunteers who are 18 years or older, who will prescreen blood donors at blood drives, asking screening questions and taking the temperature of the donors. The training required for these Blood Donor Screening positions is designed to be completed quickly and easily.
