The PACE i3 Investing in Innovation project works with child care centers and elementary schools to support a continuum of parent and family engagement to improve the outcomes of high-need students.

The Issue

Families of children with special needs often operate in crisis or near-crisis mode on an ongoing basis and may lack access to the resources and training needed to positively impact the educational and developmental needs of their children.

United Way's Role

United Way helps improve parent and family engagement in the education of high-needs children, building family-school partnerships and increasing school readiness and academic achievement.

The Results

Currently, two elementary schools and five child care centers have implemented PACE i3 and the program is on track to continue implementation and achievement of program goals.
