Kids Home Initiative is a comprehensive solution to help families avoid or escape homelessness, regain secure and successful futures, and keep their children in school.

The Issue

In the greater Atlanta area, thousands of students are homeless or at risk of homelessness and therefore risk falling behind in school.

United Way's Role

United Way helps link housing assistance, public school system resources and case management services to provide integrated support for the whole family to help children at risk of being homeless regain security and stay in school.

The Results

To date, the Kids Home Initiative has assisted more than 500 families by connecting them to case management services and working with them to establish housing stability, connection to benefits and emergency assistance.
