The Quality Improvements program provides training and assistance to home-based child care providers and caregivers, child care centers and early care programs in one of Atlanta’s most impoverished communities.

The Issue

One of Atlanta’s most impoverished community is suffering from generational poverty, lacking resources for quality early care and affecting the ability for children to thrive.

United Way's Role

United Way operates and manages a layer of early care resources in the Atlanta Promise Neighborhood to support children through training and technical assistance to the full-spectrum of caregivers, programs and providers.

The Results

Seven family, friend and neighbor (FFN) caregivers became licensed family child care homes and five received Quality Rated status.
