The Shoebox Project is an annual campaign that collects and distributes shoeboxes filled with basic necessities to homeless women and children in Greater Atlanta.

The Issue

Homeless men, women and children are often left without even the most basic necessities we take for granted.

United Way's Role

For the past 10 years, United Way leads the annual campaign that provides thousands of shoeboxes with toiletries to homeless men, women and children throughout homeless shelters in Greater Atlanta.

The Results

Last year, more than 35,204 shoeboxes were collected for 112 agencies and shelters to benefit homeless men, women and children with a value of more than $704,080.
