Silence The Growl is a meal funding program created to fill the empty stomachs of children in our 13-county region.

The Issue

Once summer break begins, many of the more than 350,000 children in Greater Atlanta who participate in a free or reduced school meal program will go without breakfast or lunch.

United Way's Role

United Way created the Silence the Growl campaign to raise funds/meals for partner agencies within our community who are working tirelessly to combat childhood summer hunger.

The Results

From May 1 – June 30, 2017, we set a goal to provide 60,000 meals to our kids this summer. We surpassed our goal with 65,481 meals in hungry bellies all across our 13 counties.
