Silence The Growl is a meal funding program created to fill the empty stomachs of children in our 13-county region.

The Issue

Once summer break begins, many of the more than 350,000 children in Greater Atlanta who participate in a free or reduced school meal program will go without breakfast or lunch.

United Way's Role

United Way created the Silence the Growl campaign to raise funds/meals for partner agencies within our community who are working tirelessly to combat childhood summer hunger.

The Results

In 2016, Silence the Growl funded more than 46,000 meals for children, raised more than $65,000 and gained more than 600 volunteers.
