For more than 40 years, United Way of Greater Atlanta has been working with our community to make Rockdale County a great place to live and work. As leaders in the community and ambassadors of United Way’s mission, we would like to share some of the highlights of what we’ve been able to accomplish with you this year, and how agency partners and community leaders have played key roles in our work.
United Way’s vision for Rockdale County is to create a thriving community. We know communities can reach their greatest future potential if our children are doing well. That’s why our focus is on building a Rockdale County where every individual and family can prosper by making sure every child has the opportunity to reach his or her potential.
We believe child well-being is measured by a multitude of factors that strongly influence outcomes, and a series of actions we can take to change outcomes for the better. Communities that can say, “all the children are well” have babies that are born healthy; are living in safe neighborhoods, children reading proficiently by 3rd grade, students who graduate from high school and are ready for college, careers and life. All should be supported by communities where people are educated, employed, and housed; with ready access to good healthcare and affordable healthy foods.
The United Way Impact Fund is dedicated to ensuring lasting, collaborative solutions to the critical problems that stand between us and a better quality of life. Impact Fund dollars are invested where you live and work in Rockdale County and address the most pressing social issues of our county. The value of your donation to United Way’s Impact Fund is multiplied many times over by United Way’s powerful resources and used to create a lasting impact on communities.
