Shoebox Project
April 1 – May 2, 2024
Every year our Shoebox Project provides thousands of shoeboxes filled with toiletries to men, women, and children experiencing homelessness. You can support by donating filled boxes, donating money, buying items from our wishlist and attending or hosting volunteer events.
Get creative. Decorate a shoebox.
Step 1: Decorate
Gather empty shoeboxes and decorate them. Be creative! Feel free to use wrapping paper, bows, stickers, markers, etc.
Make sure your box can be opened for safety inspections.
Step 2: Fill
Fill your shoeboxes with brand new toiletries and a note of inspiration!
Items needed: Shampoo, deodorant, soap, toothbrush, lotion, hair comb/brush, sunscreen, lip balm, adhesive bandages, hand towels, antibiotic ointment, socks, tampons, panty liners, water bottles, rain ponchos, zipper storage bags, prepaid phone cards. We cannot accept food, medicine, sewing kits, or used/opened items.
Step 3: Deliver
Drop off your donations to United Way of Greater Atlanta’s Donation Center at 63 Auburn Ave. NE, Atlanta 30303, Monday – Thursday from 9am to 12pm, now through May 2.
Don’t have time?
You can still support Shoebox by donating money or purchasing items from our Amazon wishlist. Every $20 = a box filled with toiletries in the hands of someone who needs it.
