Business In-Kind Donations
United Way of Greater Atlanta’s Gifts In Kind (GIK) is a donation service for businesses in the Greater Atlanta area. GIK operates a warehouse that takes donations of new products from our business community and delivers them to area nonprofit agencies in the 13-county footprint to help the people they serve. By donating through GIK, your business can help provide resources to those in need. GIK accepts new overstock, excess inventory, samples, showroom products and other merchandise that are donated by businesses.
Individual In-Kind Donations
If you are an individual who would like to give back, here are organizations in the Greater Atlanta area that accept personal donations:
Lifecycle Building Center
LBC is an organization that helps communities reclaim building materials for reuse. They accept material donations and, through their reuse center and store, resale materials to the public at discounted prices. To promote sustainability, LBC also provides educational opportunities in sustainable construction practices.
Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta
The Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta collects gently-used furniture to donate to individuals and families that moving out of difficult circumstances such as homelessness and domestic violence.
Goodwill is a non-profit organization that sells donated new or gently used items. The revenue they make from these sales is used to invest in employment and job training for individuals in the community.
Atlanta Community Food Bank
The Atlanta Community Food Bank works to distribute over 60 million meals to people in the Metro Atlanta and North Georgia area. The Food Bank accepts food as well as monetary donations.
The National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Cars program accepts car, truck and van donations. The proceeds from the donated vehicles go to providing services for kidney patients and those at risk. Kidney Cars also accepts boats, motorcycles, motor cross bikes, power sports equipment, personal watercraft, farm and construction equipment.
